She’s back! Cheryl Cole confirmed what everybody already knew and had been waiting for. She’s returning to X Factor UK this year. The Geordie star who served as a judge on the series from 2008 to 2010 before leaving the show in 2011 along with Simon Cowell to serve on the panel of the U.S. version of the show made the announcement today alongside Cowell at an official press conference held today in London . Cole was famously dropped from the U.S. series after just one episode and recently won a settlement worth over 2 million USD over the ordeal. Cowell recently announced his return to the UK show following the cancellation of the US series and was said to be keen to get Cole to return with him. According to reports, the Girls Aloud singer has signed on for only one season of the show for a payday of 1.5 million pounds. Not bad for a few months work!
While ratings for the popular series have dropped, only time will tell if the return of some of the series most popular judges can turn things around. Season 11 of The X Factor UK will premiere in the fall with auditions beginning in April. No officially announcements have been made regarding the two remaining seats at the judges table but with the first round of auditions just weeks away, we won’t have to wait very long to find out. Fingers crossed that we’ll get to see these 4 together again! For now, welcome back, Cheryl! Can’t wait to see the fashion choices on the live shows!
