The 2014 Brits are over and done with and we have a list of all the winners! From David Bowie (KING) to One Direction, a slew of artists walked away with the prestigious Brit award. Hosted by James Corden, the show was held at the 02 in London, and had performances from Arctic Monkeys, Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Bruno Mars. For the first time in the history of the Brits, the show was aired live via YouTube, which kept the twittersphere busy with lots of trending topics! The Brits, the UK’s version of a Grammy, highlights the achievements of British music throughout the year!
The show started off with a fiery Arctic Monkey’s performance, fitting intro for the band that ended up winning the biggest awards of the night. Frontman Alex Turner winning speeches were a highlight, including his ‘drop the mic’ moment. Gotta love a rock star. Beyonce sizzled up the stage with her performance of XO, and Pharrell WIlliams brought Nile Rogers along for a funk infused performance that had everyone dancing along happily.
One Direction walked away with two more Brits to their name, including winning another first time award with “Best Video Of The Year”. The award was open to public voting throughout the majority of the broadcast, and One Direction fans didn’t let the boys down when they pushed their “Best Song Ever” video ahead of the other competition. All in all, it was a great night!
